Johnny Dale Abney - October 28, 1974 - QC Inspector
Johnny Dale Abney, born on October 28, 1974, in Richmond, Kentucky, and passed away suddenly on October 25, 2024, just days shy of his 50th birthday. Johnny was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, whose warm presence and supportive nature will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Charlene Hall, and Jack and Beulah Abney, his father, John Abney, Johnny leaves behind his mother, Eileen Abney, who was the cornerstone of his world. He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted sister, April Kerns and her husband, Mike, along with their children Andrew, Hunter, Victoria, and Emma, who will miss their fun-loving uncle. His half brothers, Adam and Brandon Abney. Finding a friend and brother in spirit, Johnny's best friend, Thomas Stephens, remains a testament to their brother-like bond. Brandi Baugh, John, and their children Makayla, Regan, Bentley, and Easton, were also an important part of his close-knit circle. His absence will be felt deeply by his extended family, including many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
Professionally, Johnny will be remembered for his dedicated service as a QC operator at The Okonite Company. He was a committed member of New Heights Church. A fervent supporter of Alabama sports and an enthusiastic Trump supporter, Johnny's passion for the things he loved was unequivocal.
Funeral services will be 2pm, Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Robbie Johnson and Pastor Matt Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilot Knob Cemetery.

Rev. Wallace Richardson, 96, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Berea, Kentucky.
He was born on August 25, 1928, in Irvine, Kentucky to the late Shirrell Richardson and Sudie Lee Richardson Houser. He was preceded in death by his loving and faithful wife of over 50 years, Bonnie King Richardson, his daughter: Brenda Joyce Smith and granddaughter: Rhonda Roark.
Wallace was a devoted husband, loving father and faithful servant of God. He was a country minister of the holiness faith, pastoring churches in Kentucky and Indiana as well as being an evangelist. He was an avid gardener and loved fishing, but most of all he loved God and his family. He was also preceded in death by a brother Gordon Richardson, sisters: Roberta Lackey and Lucille Davis; and sons-in-law: Rev. John Dye and Mitchell Smith.
He was employed by the Okonite Company for 21 years as an Electrical Craftsman. He was among the first hourly employees hired in 1969, with a clock number of 30008.
Survivors include sons: Wallace Larry Richardson and Jackie Dean Richardson; daughters: Mrs. Shirley Faye Dye and Mrs. Debbie (Steve) Scrivner; one sister: Clara Singleton; nine grandchildren: Lisa Richardson, Eric Richardson, Adam Richardson, Andrew Richardson, Ashley Durham, Lindsey Morgan, Kristen Eldridge, Jaclyn Scrivner and Lauren Jackson; eleven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Bates officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

James M. "Conley" Broadus - January 7, 2024 - Rewind Operator - Former IBEW Local 2356 Executive Board Member
James M. “Conley” Broadus, age 81, husband of Zella Culton Broadus passed away Sunday, January 7th, 2024, at Baptist Health Richmond. He was born March 2nd, 1942, in Garrard County, KY, to the late Ampter and Verna McHone Broadus. Conley retired from The Okonite Company in Richmond, KY. He was an avid UK basketball fan, enjoyed yard sales, auctions, collecting arrowheads, fishing, and gardening. He was a man of faith and loved the Lord, his family, and his country, he was U.S. Army Veteran. Conley was of the Baptist faith and was a member of First Faith Independent Baptist Church. He was a very kind and generous man who was loved by many.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Bessie Ballinger and one brother, Tom Miller.
Conley is survived by his wife, Zella of Berea, KY, his son James Neal Broadus and his wife Holly, his daughter, Donna Jean Broadus both of Berea, KY, three brothers, W.A. “Bill” Broadus, Jr. of Manassas, VA, Sam Broadus of Berea, KY, and Don Miller of Santee, CA. Four grandchildren, Brandon Rose, Brandon Broadus, Brittany Harrison, and Kayla Broadus. Four great grandchildren, Chase Rose, Aubree Harrison, Tessa Rose, and Khloe Harrison along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Rickey Dale Harvey, 63, of Waco, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 12, 2024.
Rickey was born in Richmond, Kentucky at the Pope Hospital on Thursday, March 9, 1961. He was a member of the 1979 graduating class from Madison Central. During school Rickey worked for Thornberry’s and later Begley’s Drug Store, but finally started working at the Okonite Company where he was a machine operator and faithful employee for over 34 years until his recent retirement.
Hobbies include classic cars, attending car shows, but one favorite pastime was his regular visits to various Peddler Mall with his parents. Rickey also loved roller coasters and was a season ticket holder for King Island & Dollywood where he enjoyed spending time as often as possible.
Survivors include: his parents, Delbert & Vonda Harvey; one sister, Dana Portwood (John); nephew, Evan Eckler (Lindsey); niece, Emily Eckler (Marcus Mofield); great-niece & great-nephew, Ellie & Asher Eckler; as well as a host of other extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond with Pastor Keith Sands officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
